I want to welcome you to the Councilmember Todd M. Turner for County Council - District 4 website for the Prince George’s County Council in Maryland.
The 4th County Council District is a special place and leads the County in economic development, education and quality of life. The District consists of the two largest municipalities in the County – the Cities of Bowie and Greenbelt – as well as parts of College Park, Glenn Dale, Lanham, Mitchellville and Upper Marlboro. It includes major transportation infrastructure, including US 50, US 301/3 (Crain Highway), US 495/95 (Beltway), MD 197 (Laurel Bowie Road), MD 193 (Greenbelt Road), MD 450 (Annapolis Road) and the Greenbelt Metro and Bowie MARC stations. It is the home of major federal, educational, employment and mixed use centers, including NASA Goddard, BARC, Bowie Health Care campus, Bowie State University, the Trade Zone, Bowie Town Center and Beltway Plaza to name a few.
For the past eight years I have served on the Bowie City Council, leading the largest municipality in Prince George’s County in a fiscally prudent manner while providing the necessary basic services that our residents have come to expect. In addition, for the past eleven years, I have served as a staff member at the Prince George’s County Council, first for Doug Peters the former Council District 4 representative, and more recently for the entire Council. I believe my proven experience and knowledge as both a local elected official and as a member of the County Council staff allow me to be in the best position to represent the interests of the 4th Council District in the future.
I always appreciate meeting and speaking with the citizens of the entire County Council District to continue to provide collective ideas and solutions to these important issues facing our area and the County. After my election in 2005 to the Bowie City Council I promised to: (1) work hard every day for our families and our City: (2) be responsive to their concerns and issues; (3) involve them in my and the City’s decision-making process; and (4) get the results we need. I believe I have lived up to my promises and as a result of my hard work have been elected five times. I pledge to bring the same qualities to service on the Prince George’s County Council. I ask for your support in the June 24, 2014 Democratic Primary election.
I hope you use this website to find out more about me, what I have accomplished having represented the City of Bowie and as a member of the Prince George’s County Council staff and what I will do to represent you on the Prince George’s County Council as your District 4 representative if given the opportunity. Please feel free to contact me at email@example.com or 301-785-0487 if I can be of assistance. Thank you.
I am sincerely yours,
Prince George's County, District 4
